Buckle up for a Summer of Crime!


Don't worry, we're not planning a summer crime spree - but we are planning on reading about our favourite sleuths and villains! And, after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, the world of literary events is reopening for book lovers across the country. Many of the crime and thriller authors beloved by Bookhounds will be on the road this summer, giving talks and Q & As on the books that you just can't put down. 

HAY FESTIVAL - 5th June 2022

Ian Rankin will  be appearing at the welcome return of the UK's most renowned literary festival. THEAKSTON OLD PECULIER CRIME WRITING FESTIVAL, HARROGATE, 21-24 JULY

For one summer weekend, In the apropos setting of The Old Swan, the Harrogate hotel that has a fascinating connection with Agatha Christie the great and the good of crime writing convene. This year's line up includes a plethora of Bookhound's favourite crime writers:

FESTIVAL OF CHICHESTER - 16th June 2022

Elly Griffiths will feature at this year's Festival of Chichester . In the beautiful setting of Chichester Cathedral, Ms Griffiths will be discussing her new Ruth Galloway “lockdown novel”  The Locked Room, as well as her other books set in her home county of West Sussex, and this event is accessible both in-person and as a live feed online.     Met Elly at a crime day with Pauline Rowson at the pyramids, Portsmouth. She was lovely
    very friendly and approachable. Love her books about Ruth.
